Aims

Jurnal Lentera Kesehatan Masyarakat (JLKM) publishes peer-reviewed research and scholarly discussion that advances public health knowledge, policy, and practice. The journal connects research findings with the prevention of disease and injury, health promotion, population health, and the improvement of health services.

Scope

JLKM welcomes manuscripts in the following public-health areas:

• Environmental health
• Occupational safety and health
• Epidemiology
• Biostatistics and population studies
• Community nutrition
• Health administration, health services, and policy
• Health behavior and promotion
• Maternal, child, and reproductive health

Studies of clinical care, nursing, rehabilitation, and community-based programs are considered when they explain a clear connection to public health, prevention, health promotion, patient safety, or health-service delivery. Manuscripts focused solely on individual clinical management without a clear public-health or health-service contribution fall outside the journal's scope.

Article Types

JLKM accepts original research articles, literature reviews, editorials, and brief reports.

• Original research articles: empirical studies using quantitative, qualitative, or mixed methods, including evaluations of public-health interventions and community programs.
• Literature reviews: systematic reviews, meta-analyses, scoping reviews, and narrative reviews that critically synthesize evidence relevant to public health.
• Editorials: evidence-informed discussion of current public-health issues, policy, or practice.
• Brief reports: concise research or practice reports, including case-based reports with a clear public-health or health-service implication. Reports involving individuals must meet the journal's ethics, consent, and confidentiality requirements.

Descriptions of community activities must include a clear objective, methods, findings or evaluation, and implications for public health. A description of an event alone is insufficient.

Language and Peer Review

Manuscripts may be written in Indonesian or English. All article types undergo editorial screening for relevance, originality, and ethical compliance, followed by double-blind peer review by at least two independent reviewers. Authors should follow the journal's Author Guidelines and Publication Ethics policy.
